Books, books, everywhere!!!!

Do any moms know of a great way to keep books orderly and in their places? My kids love to play and read the books. But they never seem to go back to the spot where they came from.....what to do? I have used shelving, boxes, etc.....Any thoughts?

The only thing that ever worked with my kids, was putting the books up out of reach, and only allowing a certain number of books down at once. Say, 5 books. So I would let them pick out 5 books, and when they got tired of those, they'd pick out 5 more AFTER putting away the first five, etc. And to avoid the every-five-minutes-we-want-more-books, and you end up being a jack-in-the-box, you have to put a timer on so they know they can't have more books until the timer goes off. Really? That's the only way to keep the books on the shelves. Otherwise? They're just all over the floor until bedtime. Or until they're old enough to be more disciplined.

I also have this problem... Reese has gotten better, but he has to be reminded EVERY time... I've kind of just hoped that when they are older and more disciplined that it will be easier? One thing that works here is that when I vacuum I tell Reese that unless he picks up and puts things away that the vacuum will suck them up... he picks up quickly. It also helps if I pick up with him and we talk about how we are picking up, who is fastest, neatest, etc... I really feel like all I do is pick up and do laundry...
