Was wondering if any of you stay at home mommies could give me some advice on this stay at home venture........I know that there are ribbon pants out there but McKenzie and I keep getting compliments and questions about where we got them. So I thought I would make them to order. What do you think? Our town is a relatively small town but it is amazing how many people want these for their girls. So any advice on starting a small at home business doing this would be great. I just love doing it and it wouldn't be a chore for me to do it. I make them during their naptimes, etc. I know you have started a photography business, Dana. Do you have any really good advice on getting started? Thank you!

I don't have any great ideas for promoting a business, except maybe make a few dozen (you can get pants pretty inexpensive at Walmart and Target) then take them to a craft sale or saturday market. Make yourself a business card and see what happens...they are adorable...

Those are cute... I would say you should start with Craigslist and then maybe Ebay. Another good place to sell handmade stuff is Etsy.com. I've bought a few things on there and they even have where you can search for local handmade items so there isn't any shipping... good luck!
I'll second the etsy shop advice. Those pants are adorable! You can get free business cards from some where-search on the internet (vistaprint or something like that.) Then when you get a compliment or an interested mom you can hand them a card with your etsy shop address on it.
