Fischer loves Richard Scarry books of any kind, and If you give a Mouse a Cookie serious. I also just bought a book with several Curious George stories in it, and Fish loves it! I hope this helps. :)
Our kids love Lucy Cousins. She writes Za-Za's Baby Brother and books from the Maisy series. They are great for beginning readers too. McKenzie reads Za-Za's Baby Brother to her baby brother a lot.
A few authors....sorry I just listed mostly the books names. My kids love Sandra Boynton books (Pajama Time, Belly Button Book...etc)

Usborne books--especially the "Things to Spot" book. This is a *great* book for them to look at when they need to be quiet for an hour :)
